WebI used to bike in that area a lot. I prefer van ness over Oxford most of the time, at least until 2nd, from there cut over to st. Andrews until Country Club and then take 4th Ave. until Venice. This will drop you out a little west or Arlington, but 4th and Van Ness tend to be less busy, and more scenic.
