He's a pretty active bird, and in that activeness he's actually broken all of his tailfeathers just from climbing in small places, and getting startled and jumping and then when he lands, some of his tailfeathers would break. I currently have a batch of chicks that are almost 3 weeks old, and all but one chick have considerable tail feather development. The chick without any tail feather development whatsoever is a cross between Ameraucana and barred rock.
